Mission Statement: Education for Life
The International Baccalaureate Organization
(IBO) aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable
and caring young people who help to create
a better and more peaceful world through
intercultural understanding and respect.
To this end the IBO works with schools, governments
and international organizations to develop
challenging programs of international education.
Admission Criteria
Criteria for admission into the pre-IB Diploma Program include an un-weighted cumulative middle school grade point average of 3.0 or higher AND test scores as follows:
*Grade 7 FCAT Reading DSS Score of at least 1876 or higher,
AND
*Grade 7 FCAT Math DSS Score of at least 1857 or higher.
Rationale: These cut-off scores are equivalent to a FCAT NRT Stanine 7 and would maintain an approximately equivalent eligibility pool of students for admittance into the IB Programme
Criteria for admission into the Riverdale 10th grade pre-IB Diploma program include an un-weighted GPA of 3.0 or higher for the first semester of the 9th grade AND test scores equivalent to above in math and reading on their most recent nationally norm referenced FCAT test. For students currently enrolled in the Lee County school system, 8th grade FCAT scores will be used. Students from a Florida public school will qualify by achieving an FCAT Reading DSS Score of at least 1876 or higher, AND an FCAT Math DSS Score of at least 1857 or higher. For students new to Lee County or from a private school, copies of end of semester and/or year report cards must be submitted with the application. grades and the first semester of their 8th grade must be submitted with the application. Additionally, a copy of the scores from the student’s most recently taken nationally norm referenced test must be attached to the application. Students who apply for admission to the pre-IB program for their 10th grade year must have at least one year of Spanish or French and Algebra I.
