Required Student Text:
Appropriate LET level texts and or reference texts are issued to each
cadet for the appropriate block of instruction.
The JROTC texts are published by Pearson Custom Publishing in
coordination with the U.S. Army, at no cost to the student.
Uniforms: Cadets will
issued a prescribed JROTC uniform. The JROTC uniform will be worn one day each
school week, normally on Wednesday and cadets are responsible for proper
uniform wear and maintenance. Wear of
the uniform is not optional and is part of the overall course grade. Uniforms are issued at government expense and
will be turned in at the end of the course in the same condition as issued
(less fair wear and tear).
Extra Curricular Activities:
The JROTC Program affords cadets the opportunity to participate in
numerous after school activities (Color Guard, Drill Team, Raider Team and
Rifle Team). Cadets must maintain a “C”
average in order to compete.
Parent Release: A

participation in any JROTC activities or equipment issue.

student achievement will be determined by practical performance, participation,
written examinations and classroom work.
Grades will be determined based on the following areas:
Leadership
Lab and Uniform Inspections (25%)
Exams and
Quizzes (25%)
Overall
Participation (25%)
Completion
of appropriate LET level classroom assignments (25%)
Merits can be earned for
participating in school and community support activities and extra curricular
activities.
Demerits are earned for
insubordinate behavior to leadership, willful disobedience to rules or
instruction and failure to wear prescribed uniform on inspection days. Cadets can also earn demerits for improper
conduct, demonstrating a lack of motivation or proper attitude and abuse of
government or school equipment.
Opportunities will be provided to “work off demerits” by the Senior Army
Instructor or the Army Instructor.
Merits and Demerits directly affect the overall class participation
grade.
Cadets must maintain a 2.0 GPA to
hold leadership positions and associated rank above Platoon Sergeant.
Standard Operation Procedures (SOP): The Lee County Junior Reserve Officers
Training Corps SOP will be reviewed in detail by each cadet during the first
week of enrollment in the program. Promotions and
demotions, as well as leadership position selection, within the Raider Battalion are determined
based on individual cadet merit. Out of
school suspensions for any reason will result in a rank reduction and
non-consideration for promotion.
Lesson Plans: A
weekly training schedule will be posted in each JROTC classroom for cadet
information and use. Cadets are
responsible for making up any work missed due to absence from scheduled
class. JROTC instructors will utilize
published U.S. Army Cadet command Lesson Plans from
the appropriate LET level Instructors Manuals.
