Course Offerings
HOPE
This course integrates key Health Education topics and Personal Fitness/Physical Education topics onto a single, year long required course. It will consist of a classroom as well as a participatory activity component.
Required for graduation - students graduating in 2012 and after ONLY
Advanced Weight Training
This course is designed for the varsity athlete. The major focus is conditioning as well as building strength and stamina
Beginning/Intermediate/Beginning Power Weight Training
These course provide students with an opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills in weight training that may be used in physical fitness today and in the future, as well as improve muscular strength and muscular endurance. The intermediate course extends these opportunities.
Comprehensive Fitness
This course provides opportunities for students to acquire knowledge and develop an understanding of concepts that affect their fitness level and helps them improve their personal level of fitness.
Personal Fitness
This course provides opportunities for students to develop an individual optimal level of physical fitness and acquire knowledge of physical fitness concepts and the impact of lifestyle on one's health and fitness. This course is required for graduation of all students graduating before 2012.
Team Sports I-II
These course provide opportunities for students acquire knowledge of strategies of team sports play, develop skill in selected team sports and maintain and improve physical fitness.
