About RHS FFEA

FFEA - Goals and Purposes

  • To strive to inspire competent young men and women to consider teaching as a career
  • To provide members with knowledge and experiences that develop qualities and aptitudes essential to successful teaching
  • To offer "pre-teaching experiences" that are both exploratory and developmental in nature
  • To provide information on professional career opportunities in education and the special competencies required
  • To develop an appreciation of public education and the contributions that have been made to American society by:
    • teachers, public schools, colleges and universities, teacher unions, and other professional organizations
  • To encourage members to exercise their rights and privileges as citizens and to participate and accept leadership in civic affairs

FFEA - Membership

Active members are those who have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale while also demonstrating satisfactory conduct.
Some of the activities of the FFEA chapter include:
  • Be active assistants to teachers in a school
  • Invite professors from local colleges and universities to speak to chapter members
  • Encourage cooperative activities between district (county) and post-secondary (college/university) FFEA chapters
  • Invite a local middle school's chapter to "shadow" members of our chapter
  • Conduct a one day conference "College Day" at a post-secondary institution where students can:
    • Attend a teacher preparation course
    • Talk with College of Education students
    • Work with FFEA a post-secondary association
  • ...and much more

FFEA - Chapter Council

This club will help to create our future leaders within our community. Members serve as peer facilitators, tutors, and mentors within varied programs in the school and community. Some of the members may even rise to serve on the chapter council, which include:
  • President
  • Vice-President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Reporter/Historian
  • Parliamentarian
    • Arbitrator in parliamentary procedures (regarding Robert's Rules of Order)
