Program of Studies

Dear Parent or Guardian,

.....Class registration for present students enrolled in the Riverdale 6-12 program will take place this spring on our campus. Between now and registration please review this Program of Studies with your child to determine class recommendations for next year. I’d like to encourage you to review goals and plans for your child’s future. We are continuing to provide academic help for our students substantially below district levels in math and reading through our GRASP and Intensive Reading and Math programs. These students will be assigned through review of standardized test results.

.....We are implementing new additions to the schedule. Benefits of this enhanced planning will provide for engaged learning opportunities and multi-disciplinary units. Students will also have opportunities for accelerated credits, Advanced Placement, and distance learning offerings through Florida Virtual School.

.....Choosing classes is important because we hire teachers and order textbook supplies based on our spring projections. If a sufficient number of students do not select a class it will not be part of our curriculum for the next year. Therefore, it is important to select classes and alternates carefully now – a class you may want may not be available later.
