Instructional Model Change Request

Greetings SDLC Families, 

The School District of Lee County is pleased to announce that we will continue to offer choices in instructional learning models throughout the remainder of the school year.  A recent Executive Order by the Florida Department of Education allows school districts to keep their brick & mortar schools open as well as provide online learning opportunities. This will continue to give families a choice in selecting the model that best fits their child’s needs. Additionally, the order provides families with the opportunity to make changes now instead of waiting until the end of the current semester. You may view the Executive Order here.  

Parents/Guardians whose child is currently enrolled in Face to Face Learning can choose to change to Lee Home Connect or Lee Virtual School. 

  • The move to Lee Home Connect will be effective January 11, 2021. 
  • The move to Lee Virtual School will be effective February 1, 2021. 

Parents/Guardians whose child is currently enrolled in Lee Home Connect can choose to change to Face to Face Learning or Lee Virtual School.  

  • The move to Face to Face Learning will be effective January 11, 2021. 
  • The move to Lee Virtual School will be effective February 1, 2021. 

Parents/Guardians whose child is currently enrolled in Lee Virtual School can choose to change to Face to Face Learning or Lee Home Connect. 

  • The move to Face to Face Learning/Lee Home Connect will be effective February 1, 2021. 

Things to consider if making the choice from Face to Face to Lee Home Connect/Lee Virtual School:

  • Possible Change in Teacher
  • Possible Change in Class Schedule

Things to consider if making the choice from Lee Home Connect/Lee Virtual School to Face to Face:

  • Social Distancing will be very limited due to increased in-person enrollment
  • Masks are required
  • Possible Change in Teacher
  • Possible Change in Class Schedule

If you wish to change your current learning model, please go to this link to make your selection. Deadline to submit is 5pm on December 13, 2020.  If you do not wish to change your current learning model, no action is needed at this time.

**Please note you may still receive a phone call from your child’s school to discuss learning model options.**

School District Notification for Athletic Events

The School District of Lee County is restricting guests from bringing certain items into our stadiums.

In order to better protect our students and visitors, prohibited items include but are not limited to:

•    Bookbags, backpacks, cinch bags, duffel bags, camera bags or purses/bags 
      larger than 4 x 6 inches
•    Any item that could be used as a missile
•    Cans/bottles/outside food or drink
•    Coolers
•    Fireworks
•    Horns/Lasers

As always, any type of weapon on school property is prohibited. In addition, guests and the items they are carrying are subject to search.

Student Advisory Applications

Once again this year, our School Board is collecting applications for our Student Advisory Committee.  This committee meets regularly with our School Board to discuss student related issues.  Every year, our Board collects applications on-line from each middle and high school for students interested in serving on this committee.
