Riverdale English courses are centered on critical analysis and flexibility of thought. Students will be examining various forms of text and perspectives as an avenue to shape their own views that they can defend through intellectual discourse. We will strengthen each student’s ability to express his or her thoughts, ideas, and opinions to then be able to respond to those elements clearly, intellectually, and effectively. By the end of the course students should be able to read with fluency, analyze text for deeper meaning, and have confidence in communicating that information through intellectual dialogue and written expression.

These courses are designed to align with the Language Arts Florida Standards (LAFS) through standards-based instruction, assessments, and testing to ensure student mastery of essential concepts and to meet graduation requirements.
