Attendance Policy & Standards
Florida Statutes Section 1003.23
Students are counted In Attendance if they are present during roll call or engaged in a school-approved instructional activity. Regular attendance is the first step toward academic success.
⏰ Expectations
- Students must be on time and present every day school is open.
- Absences require permission from the Principal or Designee.
📝 Documentation
- Parent notes are requests for an absence to be excused.
- Excessive Absences: (5 days/month or 10 days/90 days) may require a physician's note per Policy 4.16.
Tardiness & Compulsory Attendance
Habitual Tardiness: 6+ tardies to school or a class per quarter.
*Note: 3 unexcused tardies or early sign-outs may be calculated as 1 day of absence at the Principal's discretion.
Make-Up Work Policy
It is the student's responsibility to request missed assignments immediately upon returning to class.
Timeline: Number of Days Absent + 1 Additional Day
